CLARINET FESTIVAL AND COMPETITION

Victor Kulik is a Russian clarinetist. He graduated from the Saint Petersburg Concervatory in 1994 (the class of Valery Bezruchenko). In 1989-1991 he played in the 'Saint Petersburg Camerata' orchestra, and in 1991-1994 in the Mikhailov's theatre orchestra.
In 1985 he won the first prise at the young performers' contest in Donetsk (Ukrain).
Since 1995 Victor has been the soloist-concertmaster of the clarinet group in the Mariinsky Theatre. Victor has several times performed as an invited artist of the World Orchestra for Peace founded by Georg Solti.
As the clarnet-soloist of the Mariinsky Orchestra, Victor Kulik plays in most of the opera and ballet performances, takes part in the Mariinsky label records and foreign
tours of the theatre. Along with the above, Victor performs as the guest soloist in other chamber ensembles.
Victor is a member of the juries of many contests and festivals, he runs master classes in the Saint Petersburg House of Music. In 2005 Victor Kulik was awarded the title of the Honored Artist of Russia.
